Pryor: Knee scope more than expected

Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor said a routine surgery to strengthen a partially torn posterior cruciate ligament three weeks ago turned into a more extensive procedure once the doctor found unexpected issues.

Pryor, who revealed before the Rose Bowl he had been dealing with a slight PCL injury, said Sunday at a team charity event in Columbus, Ohio, that the arthroscopy was performed on his left knee, not the right as the school announced in early February.

"We just thought I'd strengthen it, but when Dr. [Chris] Kaeding went into it, there were a lot of things wrong with it," Pryor said, according to The Plain Dealer.

I know presently the Buckeyes sit atop the Big Ten with a 13-4 record. A win tomorrow night against Illinois will guarantee them a share of the title with a 14-4 record. If Purdue and Michigan State win out, they also finish tied at 14-4.

What I'm trying to understand is the tie breaking procedures then used by the Big Ten to determine Tournament seeding. If I understood what I was reading yesterday, since the Buckeyes only played Michigan State once this year and defeated them - the Spartans are eliminated from all tiebreakers. Then it goes to a two team tie breaker.
1. - Head to head - OSU/Purdue split.
2. - Record versus highest team in Big Ten standings. OSU would win the tie breaker here as the next highest team in the standings is Michigan State. The Buckeyes were 1-0 vs. the Spartans, winning 74-67 in East Lansing on Feb. 21. Purdue was 1-1 vs. the Spartans, winning 76-64 in East Lansing on Feb 9, but losing to the Spartans yesterday in West Lafayette...

NCAA alleges Michigan committed five 'major' violations
Posted by John Taylor on February 23, 2010 2:54 PM ET

Well, so much for Michigan likely getting off with a mere slap on the wrist.  Maybe.

For the first time in the program's storied history, Michigan football is facing major violations based on allegations made in a NCAA report.  UM officials, including president Mary Sue Coleman, incoming athletic director Dave Brandon and head coach Rich Rodriguez, addressed the issues during a press conference Tuesday afternoon, admitting that the football program had exceeded NCAA guidelines on practice-time limits.

"We view these allegations seriously," President Coleman said. "We will make all necessary changes. What we will not do is make excuses."

Even as the admitted to allegations contained in the report, Brandon said that there were no "instances of anyone...
