Buckeyes #3 in Pre-Season Coaches Poll

The pre-season coaches poll has been released and the Buckeyes are #3.  To me this is somewhat of a relief.  I think #3 is a good starting point.  We are ranked high so if we lose still have a chance to make the National Title game.   We are recognized as one of the elite teams in the country once again.  The good thing is we don't have the big red target on us with the #1 ranking. 

You can argue that this veteran team is used to the hype and the pressure of being number 1.  I say let someone else stomach it for now.  It's only fitting that one of the almighty SEC schools starts at number 1. 

The top 5 rounded out as:

1. Georgia
2. USC
3. Ohio State
4. Oklahoma
5. Florida

Assuming that Ohio State and USC win their first 2 games week 3 should be a huge game in LA between the Buckeyes and the Trojans.  Two of college footballs most traditioned programs.  Both of which have two of the top five college coaches.  Both teams have been two of the most dominant programs since the inception of the BCS.  It should be a great game with a lot of hype.

Good to see us in the top 5.  It's even better that the season is right around the corner.  It's been a long offseason.
