On windows just about everyone is XP, I have XP Pro, nice. Just upgraded to IE7 tonight.

They've been horsing around for years getting a newer OS up and running.

Microsoft doesn't even support the old W95, W98 anymore. (maybe even ME)

XP Home.

ME was the worst OS they ever came out with.

Windows has been working on their new OS for a while, but the name escapes me right now.  It's going to be simliar to the new OS for Mac.  Having a dashboard and widgets, etc......

Years back they said they were coming out with "Longhorn" (never happened I think at all).

Now they have a very delayed "Vista" on a preview basis.

2 on XP Pro and 1 on XP Home

Now they are giving certificates with new pc's for free/discounted upgrades to Vista. Since it's delayed.

I'm not going to jump right away. I might get one of my boxes switched over and play around. Depends on $$ for the new OS. I'm not in the mood to pay $200+ just for an OS.

Right!  Nothing worse than getting an OS just to find it's full of bugs.  I generally wait to see, for example W98 --> W98SE, XP then SP1.

No use to rush in unless you have to buy something new right now.
