Well, it appears that Indianapolis will host the inaugural Big Ten football title game. The story is at the bottom of the linked article.

I hope the Big Ten doesn't annually "settle" for Ford Field or Lucas Oil Stadium. Football outdoors, in December, in the elements is what defines Big Ten football. It should be celebrated and embraced, not shied away from. Besides we are talking about early December, not mid January. Typically, temperatures could be cold, but not frigid.

My final feeling that the game should be rotated on a yearly basis - just like the Super Bowl. That's gonna be in cold weather, too. Time for everyone to put their big boy pants on.

At first I was shocked,  ohmy what no Soilder Field, BROWNS Stadium? Why indoors on carpet in December? Easy, it's the money.

They want more people to show up regardless of rain, snow, ice, blizzard. Fans, especially the fickle ones won't wait until the last minute to decide if they really want to truck on over to Indy or whatever dome to see the game. Now they can buy tickets as soon as they are available.

Is it real BIG TEN football, well no of course.

Is it a smart money play, yes.

GO BROWNS, TRIBE, BUCKEYES, CAVS, YSU, and yes I like ND plus GO NAVY, beat Army!!

It's so hard to go undefeated, only one major D-1A team has ever gone 14-0 in the history of the college football and win the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

63,000 seats will make it a tough ticket to get.

If the BUCKEYES are in it, well almost guaranteed sellout, pretty short drive.

Big Ten fans do travel well, especially to those DEC/JAN sunny bowl games that's one of the anti-playoff arguements.

Indoor just makes it easier if it's 10 degrees out with a -25 wind chill.
Personally I like outdoors, ever been in Chicago in January?

Yep, I know what you mean about Chicago.  Lived in NW Indiana about 40 miles from the loop for 14 years.  It can get cold, but there are a lot of cold places in the midwest.  It is the wind that zaps you.

Indy is a good location for the title game.  No matter where they have the game, it will be hard ticket to come by.

It's certainly an interesting concept and most title games are played in a dome so I can also see this being no different. Though it would be nice for the venues to change every year. Even around outdoor stadiums in cold weather. If the NFL can host a Super Bowl in the Meadowlands in the dead of winter in the distant future, one Big Ten title game can at least be played in Soldier Field or Browns Stadium if you prefer.
