It's so hard to go undefeated, only one major D-1A team has ever gone 14-0 in the history of the college football and win the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Talk about pressure on both sides!

Gahana representing the host continent.
USA representing the sport in America.

Like in hockey it comes down to the goalies, pressure!

Plus no more ties, thank goodness!

Ghana deserved the win.  They were bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled than US.  Their game against Uruguay ought to be a good one.

The goal that wasn't a goal in England vs Germany, just added to the litany of refereeing issues that we have seen in this and other world cup events.  FIFA has been considering putting goal referees behind the goals which clearly would have helped get it right for England vs Germany.  They should move on that before 2014.

Something needs to be done to help the linesmen with the offside call.  They blow that call way too often.   IMO, if referees errored on the side of the offense like they have been told to do by FIFA several years ago AND the WC referees used instant replay to review questionable offside calls that lead to scores, we could eliminate a lot of the offside errors that effect the outcome of games.

I don't accept that human error (refereeing errors) is "just part of the game" as futbol purists do when those errors happen so frequently at the highest level of the sport AND the technology exists to mitigate those errors.

I dropped from #1 to #3 in our FL tournament becasue I was going to pick Gahana 2-1 over the USA but chickened out....lost 6 big points, oh well.

The USA team had a 1st half nap, tried to rally but not good enough.

The only good thing....no more full game soccer watching for me! No more horns!
I get to scoreboard watch and peek in.

Soccer still remains the most boring team game on TV.
