The Buckeyes better, and I'm sure they will, have their chin straps buckled up when they visit Memorial Stadium in Bloomington this coming Saturday night. After watching Indiana's efforts in Ann Arbor yesterday be stolen from them on a total bullshit call, they will be seriously geeked up for the Buckeyes.

Their QB, Chappell, was doing everything you want out of your QB. Distributing the ball on time and accurately. Why were they screwing around with a second QB? Again I'm no fan of the wildcat - all it did to the Hoosiers was rob them of any momentum they were building.

I think the Buckeyes talent is significantly better than tSUN, and that will be reflected in the game vs. the Hoosiers. However, if Tress goes ultra conservative with the offense - this game will be a lot closer than any Buckeye fan would want it to be. I still look for the Buckeyes to pull away late.

The only reason you would say it was a BS call is because the idiot commentator wouldn't shut up about it, but the fact of the matter is, it was a judgment call. Nothing video replay could overturn. AND Warren clearly had the ball the whole time. Everyone complains about the call, but there was definitely not conclusive replay to overturn it. Michigan earned that game.

Let me explain my earlier comment. Years ago, I was a little league umpire. I worked mostly at the 11/12 or 13/14 year old level. Generally, I worked alone. So I had to bust my tail to get to the best possible angles to see the majority of the plays. Granted these college players are light years athletically from the kids I officiated - but the crew in an NCAA game is SEVEN. I know to properly officiate a game the field is divided into sections. If the official closest to the play ruled it as not a dual possession, I guess I can live with that. But with all of today's video technology, and seven sets of eyes on the play, how could that conclusion be reached? And how could you not know the rule in this case? When I saw it live, I was convinced both players had the ball and fell to the turf. Play over. Period. The Wolves caught a break there. Those things have a way of evening out over the course of a season.

I also think the refs gave Indiana a couple big breaks. One on the long pass interference, where it clearly was, but the flag was picked up. I did not know the rule, but from what I saw, (I may be biased) but look at the replay on youtube or something. You will see Warren had his whole left arm around it right away. I don't believe the call was blown, because it was a judgment call.

IF I know Tressel Like I think I do...hopefully...he's doing his homework on this Indiana team gave Michigan a frightful game they'll never forget. I just hope that the Buckeyes aren't too complacent over that snoozefest of a game against Illinois.

We gotta conquer the Hoosiers to stand our ground in the Big Ten. We can't get lucky like Michigan did.

Yeah...... Michigans D stopping them in the redzone 3 times and forcing them to field goals 4 is pretty lucky. They could have easily won, but Michigans D played when it mattered most.

"The play" looked like simultaneous possession to me, live and in replays.  It appeared to me that the Indiana receiver had two arms around the ball and the Michigan player had one when the players went down.  We'll see if the Big Ten has anything to say about the play this week.

Regarding the Indiana game, they have to play against our D which will be geeked to keep its shutout streak going for as long as possible.  I can't imagine they will be able to put anywhere near 30 points up on our D.

My favorite play of the game was the Lawrence Wilson INT.  I have no idea how he got a hand on the ball let alone being able to catch it.  Attention Big Ten offenses, Lawrence is a 2nd teamer.

Good pictures, both show both players with both hands on the ball, proving simultaneous possession.   To bad the refs could not have seen these pictures.   Wink

To me, "indisputable video evidence" is in the eye of the beholder, so having replay has done nothing to improve the "correctness" of calls like this one.

On those replays, you hope they got it right on the field.....but that play WAS a catch!

On trap games, there are a LOT of HOME NCAA underdogs this week!

In the NFL, how about the HOME team BROWNIES over CINCI (who plays BAL next week)?

GO BROWNS, TRIBE, BUCKEYES, CAVS, YSU, and yes I like ND plus GO NAVY, beat Army!!

It's so hard to go undefeated, only one major D-1A team has ever gone 14-0 in the history of the college football and win the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Jim Tressel and The OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY BUCKEYES!
