I heard an interview with Thad Matta with Bruce Hooley on 97.1FM.  It was a good interview.  Bruce was asking him if he was going to change his recruiting phylosophy since he's had so many players leave in 3 years.  Matta basically said no, and said they're recruiting what they need to.  They are getting their base.  The kids that left were all from either Ohio or 2 from Indianapolis (which we know who those 2 are).  He said we're not going to LA or NYC to get players and they are leaving.   He and Ohio State has to get the best kids in Ohio.  So I agree that Matta shouldn't change his recruiting style.

The conclude the interview he said to expect the same team next year.  No new point guard.  I think they're holding the scholarship in case they lose 2 instead of just the one from Kofus.

I wholeheartedly agree with Matta's plan, though it would be nice to get in a nice NYC playmaker who can hold his own all around, like a Lance Stephenson of Brooklyn, NY (though I also expect him to be a one and done player). I say stick with the locals to prove that we have the best homegrown talent out there. It's done us quite well so far and if it ain't broken, we shouldn't try to 'fix' it.
