I had to go to bed early -BUT- did watch that whole stinkin' game!

No two ways about it, the BUCKS choked or you can just hang it on Diebler, 2/12 in FG and 2/11 in 3 pointers, 6 points*

11 point lead? That game should never have seen OT.

PLUS B10, 5-2 sounds better than 4-3.

If you live by the three you die by the three, so he definitely rolled over there...not to mention it took a Siena benchwarmer to take two incredibly lucky clutch shots for them to grasp victory.

Don't get me wrong, Siena played with heart but the Bucks were really beat by themselves.

I'm at a loss for words. Might be the worse job of trying to break a press that I've ever seen. And I've played and watched a ton of basketball. Still wondering why noone flashed to the middle of the floor? Why did we dribble across half court & pick up our dribble so Siena could trap us along the sideline? We did exactly what they wanted us to do!! One the press is broke then you need to attack. We seemed content in just breaking the press (when we could) and not once did I see anyone from tOSU attack the rim. Attack and then you get two on one's with easy lobs to Mullens. Turner has to "be the man" all the time. He had Mullens wide open for a dunk at the end of regulation when he chose to drive and shoot with 3 guys on him. Bottomline, our guards are pitiful!!! No reason to sugar coat it and say it any other way. If Crater would have been patient, he would"ve been starting by now. I thought I said i was at a loss for words  :o)   I was absolutely SHOCKED that Matta didnt have an answer for that press. Nobody in the middle of the floor. our guards didnt attack and thats why we lost. dont get me started on that pitiful 1-2-2 zone we play!!!

Listen, it's real simple, you're the point guard and you have the man in front of you guarding you - then Siena throws 2 other people at you to have a triple team trap. What do you do??
A.) Before the triple team gets to you, you recognize it, and dribble either to the left or right of the man in front of you, past the oncoming defenders, then it's 5 offensive players against 2 defenders. Duh.
B.) See option A, but pass out the triple team before it's there.
C.) Do what the Buckeyes did. Stand there, hold the ball and shit your pants.

A LOT OF WORK TO DO BEFORE REACHING BETTER THAN AVERAGE STATUS. THIS WAS EMBARRASSING!!!!

That same tentativeness that has been a problem for the Bucks sealed their fate in that game. Everyone settling for thoughtless jumpshots, not one ounce of tenacity as far as taking the ball to the rack and getting easier shots or drawing fouls. We gave Siena too much hope but there's no turning back from it now...it's back to the drawing board and hope Mullens and Turner stick around for another year.

Well since basketball season is officially over, I'll be hibernating. Wake me up when Football season starts.

Scarlet, take up golf.  It is a great time-filler between BBall and FBall seasons.

I have been traveling and off in the great white north with only my rabbit ear TV so I have been out of touch for the last couple of weeks.  Local TV covered MSU so I was unable to see much of the Siena game.

I really did not expect much from our Bucks during the post season.  They've been woefully inconsistent all year.  They defend well at times, and then not.  They shoot well at times, and then not.  About the only thing they have consistently done is NOT rebound.  :^)

If we can keep most of the team together (bye, bye BJ, good luck) for next season and get Lighty back, we will be much more consistent and should have the potential to make a bit of a run in the NCAAs.

I've always had interest in golf. Though it's been awhile since I've played so I'll have to work on my swing again, but it's something to do for the summer, that and the Reds games of course. 

If BJ Mullens is the Buckeye loyalist he claims to be, he'll be back for another season. If he's smart he will do just exactly that...I know he came from a rough spot but he hasn't exactly proved himself to be draft worthy. The NBA will look at his inconsistencies and pass up on him, besides there are far more better big men (Blake Griffin, Tyler Hansbrough, Hasheem Thabeet, DeJuan Blair, Kyle Singler, Robert Dozier, Josh Heytvelt...I COULD GO ON!) that NBA Teams would rather pursue than Mullens who should work better on his game. Even Lauderdale is better suited for the draft. Sorry to be so harsh on BJ but he can be better and he can develop that with the Buckeyes.

Evan Turner on the other hand is a mid to late 1st round draft pick at best. I'm hoping he could stick around longer but in the event that he does declare for the draft, it'll be understandable and I'll wish him the best of luck.

I don't disagree that BJ needs more work, but I don't think he will be back.  If I thought I could make the money he could make, I take the jump too.  So what if I have to learn from an NBA roster?  Its like hitting the lottery, if I new I could win $5M per year for 3 years by buying a ticket in Wednesday drawing or "maybe" win $10M per year for 3 years by waiting for a couple of more years and then buying a ticket, I would be racing out of the office right now to buy that ticket.   

I think Turner and Buford have said they are coming back.  It will be interesting to see what Lauderdale does next season.  He improved greatly from last season.  His consistency might have been hurt or helped for that matter by having BJ coming off the bench.  Who knows?  I presume BJ will be gone, so more of the load will fall on DL. 

Looks like we will be lean at Center and Point Guard (again) next year since we have no one coming in for the 2009 class.  I doubt there is anyone available this late in the recruiting game.   Of the two, more help at PG would be nice.  However, with Turner, Buford, Diebler and Lighty we should have a nice core.
