And the Buckeyes take the field...it's party time!

« on: March 08, 2009, 02:19:09 PM »

Starts 3/8 at 5:00 on the BTN.

Another matchup against the Wildcats who surprisingly beat us back in Evanston but The Bucks are poised to exact their revenge and stay above .500 in Big Ten play.

On a side note. The women's basketball team of the Buckeyes tip off against Purdue a half hour after the start of this game for the Big Ten Tournament title. Much luck to the Bucks in both games!

Ugh it's not a pretty one so far but if the Bucks can get a stop, prevent Northwestern from hitting a 3 without fouling, we'll come away with the W.

Another frustrating game to watch as we blew another huge first half lead .... but a win is a win.

It just seems like we have run out of gas at the end of the season.

We have the makings of a great trifecta of offensive players in Turner, Bufford and Mullens, but we seem to go in long stretches where they disappear.  If fact, I'm not sure Bufford had a shot in the 2nd half ... probably did, I just don't remember him touching the ball much.

Thad uses Mullens strangely at times.  In this game, Mullens scores 8 points in a row during an 8-2 Buckeye run and then we take Mullens during a TV timeout??  Curiously, Kyle Madsen came in for him ... bingo run over and NW goes on a run.

Gotta love Turner taking over the game at the end.

This win should get us in the NCAA tourny.  10-8 in the Big 10 and 20 wins overall should be good enough with our RPI and the wins we have in RPI top 25.

I"m almost wondering if an early loss in the Big 10 tourny would serve this team well.

We still have a lot of flaws though, we struggled against a Northwestern team that we should've beat, despite their improvement, we got stomped by Illinois twice, edged by Illinois and let Indiana have their way on offense, even though we won that game.

Dallas Lauderdale's recent injury doesn't bode well for us either. Just more people that'll have to step up on defense, I hope it doesn't become too much for the Bucks.
