Nate, Gary, et all, watching the game, I sure felt that T.P. just wasn't right, the kid just didn't have any zip on the ball, coupled with the fact that J.T. gameplaned for a 2 qb rotation and on scrambles T.P. would step out of bounds, when we've WATCHED him turn UPFIELD for extra yards, led me to believe he was hurt. I say this not as an excuse for his performance but as a reason......to say nothing of the courage to take the field as a qb, with a sore shoulder. No doubts about the kid from my corner, he'll progress with his mechanics and show a ton of improvement.....BTW....I have seen comments about post-game reports of his injury.

Remember he's a FRESHMAN who hasn't even started every game -plus- this wasn't INDY, ILLINI, NW it was (almost) #1 TEXAS!  Big chore for that OU Heisman guy.

One ESPN guy really summed it up well, the "D" played fantastic for about 59 minutes and 40 seconds.

I say, GREAT game, almost fantastic result.

And on Pryor I have one concern, he's 18 and 6'6"....will he be 6'8" and playing hoops?

Chris Spielman
There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

Fellow BUCKEYES, No way by my post did I mean to imply it wasn't a great game, on the contrary, I'm EXTREMLY proud of the BUCKS and EXCITED about our future. Some may critque this outgoing senior class for their losses in "BIG" games, I see it in a bit more positive light, it would have been so easy for this group to have "folded" their tent; so to speak, after any of these losses, but they hung in there and continued to lead and give great effort, witnessed by this last heartbreaker and their overall w/l record. Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way, but a true winner should be judged by more than the lights on a scoreboard. THANK GOD I'M A BUCKEYE!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I hope you didn't take my post wrong either, I was just summing up Pryor's performance in general also using your post in general.

I also hope:
1. He doesn't start liking to dunk basketballs in the offseason.
2. He grows out and not up, add ~20 lb of muscle and he might be the best runner/passer in D-1. good

First of all to all the people who have nothing but bad things to say about Pryor, you are all CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right now he is trying to progress as a passer. Everything bad you have had to say about Pryor you should point it all at the offensive line. Its impossible to do anything without an O-line. Can you imagine what would have happened if TB was in instead of TP. He is going through his progressions and trying his best to make the right decisions for the team. I think we are loosing some bad apples of the line(Boone, Rehring, and Person). They have single handedly lost the last two national championships for us. Its time to get some of the younger guys in there and see if they can help. We all know they cant do any worst. The only real point i want to make is Pryor is a freshman and hates loosing and will do whatever he can to make this team the best it can be. For all the people who are bad talking him i hope you feel the same in the next two seasons, when hes in the conversation for the Heisman

So is it off limits in this Forum for one to criticize Terrelle Pryor?

"Bad talking" him and pointing out when he plays like crap are two different things - especially, when the criticism comes from someone that has praised him throughout the season.

Posts like Terrelle's "he is only a freshman" post (above) and others like it have been repeated throughout the season and is what I meant by TP getting a pass.   He had 13 games and god only knows how many practices under his belt going into the Texas game ... in my book he is no longer a freshman, time for the "passes" to end.

FWIW, I expect him to live up to his potential too.  Heisman trophy???  It takes more than "potential" to win the Heisman.

For all those Terrelle "apologists" out there, I hope you are not inventing apologies in a couple of years when someone else is picking up the Heisman trophy.   poke

Like you, I do hope he is the one picking it up.   biggrin

I heard TP had hurt his shoulder. Hope that is why he had such a poor game throwing. His legs gets him out of a lot of trouble, hope he can progress like Vince Young.

I have not been able to find anything on the net to substantiate that TP was hurt.  As peber pointed out below, an injury would explain the shot put passes and running out of bounds when no one is around.
