This is a shocker.

http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2008/12/29/mbk_29_crater.ART_ART_12-29-08_C1_EFCC5R0.html?sid=101

Crater sites lack of playing time and unfulfilled promises by Matta as reasons for his departure.
From what I have seen of him I would have expected his PT to increase over the season.

Dang Crater, the kid just got to Ohio State and just like that he's wanting to leave? It's just too soon for him to decide to leave. At least Eric Wallace waited til the end of the season to leave when he discovered he wasn't getting much playing time. I think Crater should've done the same and waited it out but it's his decision and I hope he'll transfer to a college team that will give him more valueable playing time.

Apparently, he thought that he was going to be used as a shooting guard along side of Simmons.  Fat chance of that with the other talent we have on the team.  His niche was to be a distributing point guard and I don't think he wants to be that kind of player.
