And the Buckeyes take the field...it's party time!

« on: December 06, 2008, 09:33:34 AM »

By far our biggest test in this season so far. After a valiant victory against the Hurricanes earlier this week, they come back home to host the Fighting Irish. I don't want to speak of ill will, saying that this matchup will go easier due to the fact that leading scorer Luke Harangody is terribly sick so I wish him a speedy recovery, but as far as the game goes, the Bucks would still have to prepare for Notre Dame as they still have a lot of good players that could outplay Ohio State if we're not careful. We'll need our 6th man to rally their butts off to lead us to victory.

Gametime begins 4:00 P.M. EST on ESPNU

This is going to be a good test for the young Buckeyes.  ND is one of the better teams in the country.  We should see how we really stack up today.

WHAT A GAME!

To be honest, I did not think the Bucks would win that game with Harangody playing but the Bucks were fearless and willed their way to victory! I'm sorry I ever doubted the Buckeyes!

Very big win for us. Evan Turner and Dallas Lauderdale came through for us as well as Buford and Mullens.

Edit: Can you believe Michigan beat Duke?? Freakin crazy!

There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

Two big wins over ranked opponents, and I emphasize big after beating Notre Dame. My confidence is at an all time high now, as well as the Bucks should feel, I feel like we can take on anyone and we can't ask for a more better opponent than Butler next Saturday. This time they're in our house!

The groups confidence should be to the roof. I hope they keep it going.

I wasn't able to pick up the ND game down here in Florida.

We better be ranked after the nd win. Turner is a beast. With him and diebler we could really do some damage in a wide open big ten. This year in the big ten the teams that were supposed to be good have already lost, and the teams that werent supposed to be good until next season are makinga run this year.

Buford's contribution early in the game coming in for Diebler was huge.  I think he banged 3 in a row when we did not look like we knew how to score.  That settled everyone down.

Mullens had a big game too.  I was glad to see him hit his free throws.  I think that shows that he is settling in.  Crater had some huge minutes backing up Simmons.  I don't think we missed a beat when he came in.  PJ Hill really gets the guys going cheerleading from the bench ... and Lauderdale .... what did he have 4 or 5 blocks a couple of them on Harangody? ... gosh DL has made a huge leap forward in 1 year.  ND had no answer for Turner.  Harangody tried to defend him a couple of times and Turner just burned him.

Matta has to be very pleased.  These guys play hard and share the ball.  Their speed has surprised me the most.  I don't know how many loose balls they have tracked down that I did not think they had a chance to get.  How about LD diving on the floor at least twice trying to get to loose balls?  That guy looks even bigger spead-eagle sliding across the floor. (how does one get a 7" 5" wingspan like LD anyway?)

Things are really looking up for our Bucks and the Big Ten for that matter.  I think the Big Ten race is going to be crazy.  Michigan has two huge wins, MSU has some injuries, Purdue has shown to be not quite as good (yet) as some thought.  IU has underperformed.  This is looking like a very interesting BBall season for Big Ten fans ...

Sure is an interesting season for Big Ten basketball indeed. Also give some notice to Minnesota as well who are also undefeated, though their true test will be against Louisville.

Thad Matta is coaching the team quite well and our players are bound to go very far if they keep up this kind of play.
