Saw this posted as a comment on an article written about UM's changes in The Game tomorrow. I have not checked the stats, so they are presumed accurate.
It is a comparison of the national ranking of UM's offense and OSU's defense. For example, UM's offense is ranked #93 in yards per game versus OSU's defense which is ranked #28 in yards per game given up.
UM Offense versus OSU Defense
# 93 yards # 28
# 103 passing # 27
# 88 points/game # 7
# 105 yards/game # 13
# 76 touchdowns # 7
Huge advantage for the good guys!
This game has a strange feeling about it to me. In my lifetime there has never been an Ohio State - Michigan with such mismatched records and rankings of the teams. Most UM folks are expecting a loss. This is really weird.

(10) Ohio State v. Michigan
Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio
Kickoff: 12noon
TV: ABC
At 3-8, Michigan comes into Ohio Stadium with their worst record ever. First year Head Coach Rich Rodriguez has struggled all season trying to transition Michigan’s traditional offense into his own high powered offensive style. Unfortunately for Rodriguez, he simply doesn’t have the right weapons to run the new offense. Don’t feel bad for the Wolverines, Rodriguez has a slew of young talent coming into Michigan in 2009 but for now, the Maize and Blue just aren’t there yet. On the other hand, Ohio State is playing for another Big Ten title and a possible Rose Bowl invitation. The Buckeyes haven’t exactly lived up to expectations this season but have played themselves into a position to four-peat as Big Ten Champs. There is a lot at stake in this game. The Buckeyes are playing for more hardware and Michigan is playing for pride. That alone makes the Wolverines a very dangerous team. Don’t expect Ohio State to come out with a bunch of new plays that we haven’t seen all season and put up 50+ points on the Wolverines. Instead, expect a lot of the same ball controlling “Tresselball” schemes. “Close to the Vest,” they say.

Its here!!!! No matter how gloomy this season has been, I know, and so do many other Michigan fans, and sports reporters, realize Michigan will be looking good in the next 2 years. If RR can pull off the biggest upset for Michigan in a while, everyone will need to back off of him. People dont realize Michigan is less than 15 plays or so from being a .500 team or better. Give him the time he needs, and the people he needs, and lets see how we do. Go BLUE, BEAT THE BUCKEYES!

That's what concerns me. OSU as heavy favorites. UM with nothing to play for but rivalry pride. This is their bowl game and beating us would be HUGE for RichRod.
Add to that, it looks like we could have some bad weather to boot.
I don't know, I have a weird feeling myself but I can't pinpoint what I'm concerned about. Objectively I look at the game and expect a Buckeye win. However, the other factors just have me nervous.

I fully expect M to come to town ready to play their hearts out. No matter how dismal their season has been...they will still come looking for blood. I would expect the same from our Buckeyes if the role was reversed.
Let's just play better than we played against PSU and we should be fine. We need to score some TD's and put them on their heels early. If they gain some momentum.....watch out.

Honestly, the only way I can see a Michigan win, is if the defense can score, and force some turnovers, anything to keep Pryor of the field. Like the Wisconsin game, the defense scored and we won. I hope it happens again.

We just need to be aggressive on both sides of the ball. Pressure the youth of Michigan to do what the've done all year............make mistakes ( turnovers........etc ).
The team isn't over looking Michgan , the fans are. And I admit it, I am feeling a bit cocky too. It might be back and forth inthe beggining, but I see it getting really ugly the latter part of the game.

Chris Spielman
There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman. This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man. Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman. The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

It's so hard to go undefeated, only one major D-1A team has ever gone 14-0 in the history of the college football and win the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

I saw who will be announcing the game...............
Bob (I'm a Miiiiichigan homer ) Griese.............what a dusche bag. He is the one who said there was a QB contaversy during the Mich St. game
Brad Nessler...........he's OK , he is cool.
Paul " I'll hava nother Thank you " McGuire..............what a freaking drunk. He is always toasted by the 3rd series. No wonder Bob and Brad kick him out of the booth by the 2nd half.
I offer a suggestion to Buckeye nation to do what I do - turn the sound off the TV, and put the Ohio State Radio network on with Paul Keels, and Jim Lachey. True, the TV pictures have about a 5 second delay from the radio. But after all these years of doing it this way for the Buckeyes and Browns, it's cool to see the video of what was just described in your ear. Besides as a radio team, we have the NCAA's best in Keels and Lachey.
