And the Buckeyes take the field...it's party time!

« on: November 13, 2008, 08:04:16 PM »

Sure I'm passionate for football, but Basketball has always been my favorite sport, which is why I can't wait for the upcoming season to commence and since they've done great in their Exhibition game I'm looking for the Bucks to make their push for the Big Ten title and heck, perhaps a NC!

I expect big things from Jon Diebler, Evan Turner and the new kid (and a possible rookie of the year) B.J. Mullens, not to mention other players stepping up their game for the Bucks' benefit.

They start their season against Delaware State in St. John Arena.

They should have a good mix of talent and experience this year.  Last year, I think the team was just raw.

Lighty is a SR, Deibler should have a better year, Turner as well and Mullins should be a presence in the middle defensively.

I think this could be a good team.

I like to believe we have the edge, mainly because I don't know if there are any other rising players in the other Big Ten universities. I do forsee us contending for the Big Ten title.

I guess we'll only tell when conference play starts later in the season.

I've seen MSU twice now and they look to be pretty good.  This team appears to be more of an Izzo-type team ... defend and rebound.

As you say we will see when everyone starts playing someone.

I'll say 4th in the B10 behind Purdue, Michigan State, and Indiana

The Big 10 is going to be pretty strong this year in basketball.

I can surely hope so. I grow sick of hearing about how powerful the ACC is in basketball. At least we're up against one of their average teams in Miami this year. Not to say that "The U" is weak but I believe that with mistake-free basketball, we should win against them.

And finishing 4th sounds fair, as long as we win the tournament, that'll secure us a spot in March Madness.

We're a little raw but I think we're going to be pretty good defensively.  We should make the NCAA tourny this year.

Hairless, correct me if am wrong, but doesn't Indiana only have one - as in (1) - player on scholarship from last year? I know it's Indiana, but Tom Crean better coach 'em up in a hurry. I see this being a long year in Bloomington, but I've been wrong before. lol.

well that may be true, but i watched some of their early games and they looked good. they have good outside shooters and some exceptional size down low....i know it was against weaker teams but they still looked good....just my opinion
