The moment of truth is underway. Aside from the USC disaster and the upcoming Michigan game at the 'shoe, this is our biggest game and a test we can't fail so give 'em hell Bucks!

Here are some stats to keep in mind.................

* The Home Team in this series has won 12 of the last 15 meetings.

* JoePa is 7 and 12 against the Buckeyes ( including 0-7 at the Shoe ).

* The Buckeyes are 6 and 1 at the Shoe in Home night games.

* Penn St. this yr has allowed an average of 180 yds of rushing in games against Illinois, Whiskey, and Michigan. ( they do not want to give Beanie and Pryor 200 yards on the ground in this game tomorrow)

* The Buckeyes are averaging 200 yards rushing against Conference foes this yr.

Now the key tomorrow night for a Buckeye victory will be containing thier QB Clarke. He has a tendancy to sail his passes when pressured, so its very important that our DE's ( Hayword , Rose and company ) keep him contained on the inside .

I am really pumped up for this game...........Penn St is very vulnerable against the run. We need to go right at them.

Toughts??

Go Bucks!! beer

There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

I agree completly Brandon Minor had 117 yds and 2 tds last week.  Illinois had 189 yds rushing.  But I think to open up the run we have to at least consider throwing on 1st down. Our offense is so predictable that without Beanie I couldn't see us in to many 2nd and short situations

Tressel mixed it up real well last week............We consistantly had 3rd and 3 and 2nd and 3's, due to Beanie's runs. I don't see that changing.

Defensively I hope we defend Penn St.'s wheel route option plays , similar to what USC scored on us with thier TE/ RB's. The Nittney Lions love running those plays, and have been very sucessful.

More stuff to think about going into tonights game..............

* The defense quit overpursuing last week ( Mich St. ) , and that needs to translate to this week against the Nittney Lions QB Clarke and RB Royster. The defense actually stayed in thier areas.........and adjusted accordingly. Laurenaitis was in on almost every run last week...........

* Both teams have been great protecting the ball ( both are averaging about 1 turnover per game ). So who is gonna force that 2nd or 3rd turnover??  And the team that does could be the difference in  tonights game. ( The Buckeyes forced 5 from Michigan St. last week )

* Rain is forecasted tonight. Which if its gonna favor one of these teams.........I would say it would be the Buckeyes, they have been relying more on the run than the pass. If Penn St. cannot throw like they want, that elimnates an element of thier offense that has everyone talking about them...........and they won't be throwing up 40 points.  So the weather factor goes to the Bucks!!!!

Go Bucks!!
