Blame JT for classless fans booing Todd Boeckman?  Borrowing the infamous words of Mike Ditka, "who you crappin'?   ....   laughing on floor

Serious question .... how many of Ohio State's practices have you attended?  Must have been most of them if you think that JT has been "blind" in practice to Terrelle's talent.  Heck, JT said before the season started that TP was picking up the system faster than expected and was going to play a significant role on the team this year.  He has done exactly that as his role has gotten more and more significant as he has become more and more confortable handling the entire offense.

Another serious question ... what makes you think that JT "sprung" the rotating QB play that we used versus USC on the team at game time?  Is it because the first WE (the TV audience) heard about it was when Herby "announced" it in the pregame show?  That does not mean that the team did not know about it for days in advance.  Heck, everyone in the media was speculating that JT would do exactly what he did against USC, use both QBs to keep USC off balance.  Unfortunately, it did not work.  Sometimes things don't work out when you try to be "imaginative."

Let's not forget that USC players were quoting as saying it was the same thing they had been practicing for all week. When you actually here players in the media saying things like that, and can't begin to question what's going on something is wrong. Being "imaginative" is fine, and i'm all for it. The only thing I don't care for is using one oddball play once in a blue moon and people considering it imaginative. You don't have to be imaginative for Pryor to do something nasty, but you do have to have him on the field at all times.

The way I look at it is if you pay money for a seat you got the right to boo.

Is it classy?

No.

I can see where a the fans would boo the coaches or the team in displeasure about how they played in a half or taking a knee at the half.  I tend to disagree with booing student athletes.  You don't boo little league kids or high school kids.  I disagree with booing student athletes.

Just my opinion.

No.

Clarity, welcome to the site.
I can appreciate your comments, you are not alone.

Here is some food for thought ....

One has to pay to get into High School games, right?   Is it OK to boo individual players at high school games when they walk on to the field for the first time in a game?  Remember that is the context in which this discussion was started.  TB entered the game and was booed.

Freedom of speech, and you have the right to "BOO".... You do. You aren't going to get arrested. But it still makes you look like an idiot, and it's wrong. Not only had Todd delt with a lot of adversity by starting off so well (I'm sure some of you thought he had an outside chance at a Heisman) and then not playing as well as he did in the first half of last year, but now he's delt with the best freshman QB in recent history to compete with him for the starting job. But did he quit? No. He acted like a man. He has helped Terrelle Pryor become a better QB.

Todd Boeckman is what every Buckeye should aspire to be. He is a great man. He is a great Buckeye. I have a son, I can only hope he is half as good of a person as Todd Boeckman.

I was so ashamed for all of those who booed.

IMO, booing and ranting incessantly about a college athlete's shortcomings is one of the reasons that Ohio State fans have a reputation of "classlessness".  Talk about losing perspective ... some folks ought to be ashamed of themselves.

First of all I agree that booing a BUCKEYE football player is classless but I do not think that it is isolated to so-called buckeye fans. I watched several Big ten games this season where the so-called fans booed their starting quarterback or their entire team. Now, the later was well deserved because it was Meatchicken but I do not consider the boo bandits real fans.

I am sorry if you are a boo bandit and I offended you (cowering under table) but I was just banned at BP and don't want to step on any toes... no no forget that, if you booed a buckeye player, you are not a fan... just my humble opinion of course  biggrin

Chris Spielman
There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

I would understand if boeckman had been playing the whole game and was tanking, but he only played one snap and got booed before he even threw the incomplete pass. He is just as much a part of the team as anyone else. He has been going through two-a-days for 6 years and he got the team to a national championship. He is just as good as mcmullen or belli"sorry" but he just happened to come in after a heisman and before another heisman
