There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

Obviously, this game was a replay of the last 2 National Championships.  Todd is not the quarterback that needs to be in the lineup.  In the biggest of games, he is like a house of cards, he folds under pressure.  Besides that, where the hell was Maurice?Huh?Huh?Huh?  Two carries for like 6 yards?Huh??  Who the hell were these other clowns out there?  The entire coaching staff is on the line for this debacle. Trestle needs to take all these has been's, as well as the coaching staff and go back to DIII.  But with what he has now, I doubt if they could compete with anyone.

If all these seniors came back to OSU, instead of the draft, they made a big mistake!!!  Their draft status just took the largest plunge of any draft class ever.  Laurenitis, Jenkins, Hartline, Chris Wells, Maurice Wells, Boeckman, Robiskie...  Nothing but marginal, to say the least, actually, down right "SORRY"!

Todd Boeckman is the biggest loser on this football team.  You cannot tell me that there are no other quarterbacks between Boeckmen and Pryor???

I live in Jacksonville, FL, and we get all the crap we can handle from the UF, FSU, and UM fans, about "MY BUCKEYES"!  But when year after year, we "CHOKE" during the big games, we are the whipping boys.  Right now, we couldn't beat ourselves out of a wet paper bag.

Hell, Mount Union, out of Alliance, Ohio, could probably hand you your ass...  And they are DIII. (National Champions).

Someone just explain to me, why this Boeckman "MORON", was even in this game?  He would have been off the field, in the locker room after the first series in the first quarter.  Jim Tressel's job should be in jeopardy, after this farce.  How could an AD of any caliber, accept a 35-3 loss, to a marginal football team?  See ya JIM.............

Obviously an over reaction.  Ohio State is a victim of their own success.  All of the sudden winning the Big Ten Championship and getting the opportunity to play in these big games is not good enough anymore.  I remember a time when Ohio State couldn't win the Big Ten, Michigan owned them.  Ohio State couldn't win an outright Big Ten Championship.  Now the value of the title doesn’t mean as much because of a couple of big games and because of what others think.  This loss is not the end of the world, Ohio State lost to a better team.  If Ohio State wins the big ten title (which will not be easy) then they will get to a BCS game and have a chance to play on the national stage again.  Ohio State is 4-2 in BCS games with a national title win over an unbeatable Miami team.  They took the National Champion Longhorns down to the wire, and beat them the next year at their place.   Not bad for a bunch of chokers.

Jim Tressels job is not in danger nor should it be and people that say that don't remember the Cooper years or even the Bruce.  Actually, I don't know that Woody was this successful.

Saying Tressel should be fired is ridiculous.

Now I do think Heacock needs to go.  I've been warming up to that ever since last years Illinois game.   He doesn't get it.  He defenses don't attack like a championship defense needs to.  That change can be made.

We don't need an O Coordinator.  If we don't have a bunch of penalties we're in the game.  If we had a better QB who didn't play his worst when he needs to be at his best, we'd be in the game.

I'll oblige and agree we need a new D Coordinator.  Hell, just give Fickell a chance.  It can't hurt.   We also need to figure out about what's going on at QB because Boeckman isn't getting it done when we need him.

Hi...new here.  Went to the game.   Been to MANY a game and can honestly say we've never faced a team of this caliber.   Doesn't matter about the "what ifs".   No chance in hell we could beat this USC team in a million years.

Hanging out in LA the last few days the local sports radio guys made a good point (too bad Tressel wasn't listening).   They said that the Wells injury actually gives OSU their best chance....... meaning they have an excuse to totally change things up and play Pryor a TON.    Wells or not, this was going to be a 3 touchdown game.   USC's offense only played 3 quarters.  It could have been worse.

Pryor just glides out there.  We want a shot at a title we need to do something drastic.  No matter how good we look the rest of the year with the same QB and scheme, we will NOT have a shot.   Who would vote us in?  3 straight losses against elite teams.  Ain's gonna happne.

Hey guys. Im in the Navy and have been stationed all over the US Ive been in the land of the ACC, SEC, WAC, and currently the PAC-10 even though im from the heart of Big ten (lancaster, ohio home of Bobby Carpenter and Jim Cordel) Its been getting harder and harder to defend the Bucks year after year of chocking in the big games. I dont think that Tressel should do anywhere however we need to mix some things up in the assistant coaches ave. The team all doesnt play with passion anymore I think that the key is Pryor. I think that he can spark the team kinda like Smith did.  sign_oh sign_io

The Buckeyes did not lose to a better team.  The Buckeyes lost to a great team, but they were not better.

Sloppy football is why we lost that game.  10 Penalties and 3 Turnovers.  We could have been playing a Division III school and still lost the game with that level of playing.

The second drive that ended in a field goal should have been 7! Pentalies killed it.

Back to back holding calls bringing back a touchdown.  More sloppy half ass play.

The score should have been 14-14 at half time.

I hate to say this, but after the touchdown being called back and the INT run back, all of the momentum shifted to USC.  The crowd and momentum took over at that point and the game was over.  I didn't even bother watching the 2nd half because I could see that the team had accepted defeat and moved on.

The problem is a Team like OSU should not be accepting defeat!  That is where the problem lies.  Again, you can't teach a Pee Wee team to play against the NFL.  That is what it looked like.  Boeckman might as well have been a 12yr old trying to play.  Maybe coaching needs to look at the players who will not accept defeat!  and only play them!  The players who will play till the last second because they want it bad enough!
