Here's the big game.  Let's hope we were just sleep walking last week and we're ready to kick some Trojan tail this Saturday!

Article in the LA Times that USC still considers the buckeyes a BIG THREAT.
Actually made me feel a bit more confident!

Here's what they're saying out west here!

What drives me nuts is when players from either side give the other bulletin board material.

There is nobody in the Buckeyes locker room that should be saying anything............just shut up , and go get it.

There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

Welcome to the site hbrocks!

I can imagine it's tough living out there in LA.  One of my employees just moved to Columbus from SoCal (Irvine actually) and he is hoping USC beats us so I can imagine how it is out there.

It would be foolish for USC not to take us a threat.  We very well could have been sleep walking last week looking ahead, playing conservatively so we didn't tip our hand and the fact that Beanie was out pushed us down a notch as well.

USC has a more pro style offense so I think our defense should matchup well against their offense.

Our offense is going to have to be sharp.  Our OLine has to get push.  They have to protect Boeckman.  If Boeckman doesn't time he's prone to mistakes.  This USC defense is probably going to be the best defense he's seen (except maybe LSU last year) in his career.  He has to have time.  Our WRs have to catch the balls that come there way.   We're going to have to have a running game.

We can win this game but we have to play our A game.

For sure the D is going to have to come up with some huge plays.  Sanchez is going to throw for some big yardage and the defense will have to bend a little and not get frustrated and force USC to make mistakes.  We are not going into the Colisseum and shutting USC down.  That's just not going to happen.  However, if we play solid patient D we can force mistakes and at that point the game will be on Boeckman's shoulders.

It will be interesting.
Given the line, the whole world expects our Bucks to get pounded.
JT's Bucks have done well in those kind of games.

I think the "loss to Ohio Univ." (it might as well have been based on the way some fans and pollsters reacted) put Pryor's development behind schedule.  I don't expect to see much of him this Saturday night.  JT's new goal must now be to make sure he develops for the Michigan Game.

I live out here in LA too and most of the SC fans I've spoken with are more worried than I am.

I just have a gut feeling this is going to look a lot like the last two Nat'l Championship games. SC's lines are huge, fast and strong. They crushed Virginia like a high school team. Most SC fans feel this team is better than last years despite their youth.

Many SC fans I've talked with feel Sanchez is a much better QB than Booty ever was.

My prediction:

SC 45

OSU 13

Then I'm going to have to listen to it all the rest of the season.....*sigh*

I really hope you're wrong.  If our defense gets torched that bad Heacock will need removed as Def Cordinator of the Buckeyes.  I don't care how good USC is there is no reason for this team to get slaughtered this year with the multitude of talent it has.  If our defense gets torched again, it's a complete failure in planning.  There will be no more excuses for me if that happens.

Our OLine is going to have to man up as well and protect Todd and open some holes for the running game.  Our SR wide outs have to catch the ball and lead.

We need Beanie at least 90%.

Bottomline:

Run the ball, control the clock, and our defense can rest and we wont have to score a ton of points!
