1. Michigan State-The Spartans desperately needed to restock their talent base, particularly on the perimeter, and are getting that done. They have committments from point guard Kalin Lucas od Orchard Lake, Mich., and wings Durrell Summers of Redford, Mich., and Chris Allen of Norcross, Ga., all top 30 prospects.
2. Syracuse-Assistant coach Mike Hopkins is one of the best at spotting talent early and getting the Orange involved. SU has five committments, including four players rated higher than 50th. Power Forward Donte Greene has advanced into some analysts' top 10's.
3.Maryland-Hiring Chuck Driesell as assistant immediately paid off with June committments from forwards Shane Walker of Alexandria, Va., and Adrian Bowie of Marylands Montrose Christian. The gem of the class is 6-8 center Braxton Dupree of Baltimore.
