All I can say is that we are already reaping the rewards of Tressel getting Pryor to come to Columbus. And he hasen't taken a snap yet. Things are lining up to be awesome in Columbus for a long, long time. Another key part of the article is when Tressel meets with these recruits at thier homes and with thier families..........and thier converstions are about other things bsides football.  That has to resinate to folks on alot of levels.  And is probrably one of many reasons Tressel is so successful at recruiting.

There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

I love this....

Quote
The recruiting victories of late have been all the more sweet because they've come at the expense of rival Michigan. Tressel has gone head-to-head with new Wolverines coach Rich Rodriguez for seven recruits and has landed six: linebacker Dorian Bell and running back Jordan Hall from Pennsylvania; defensive end Melvin Fellows, offensive lineman Corey Linsley and defensive lineman Adam Bellamy from Ohio; and receiver James Jackson from Michigan.

This is why we're going to have a dynasty.  Parents love JT and kids know they're playing for someone who cares about them.....

Quote
"I've stopped counting the number of stories I've heard from parents who say, 'Jim Tressel sat in my living room for two hours and never once talked about football,' " Long said. "That resonates big time with parents. And also with kids. It says he cares about me in general and not just as a football player."

Tressel has brought Buckeye football to a new level and it looks like it's going to stay at that level for a LONG TIME.

If we are not in the top 3 as far as teams go as a whole for 2009, then the recruiting analysts are definately biased as I have felt for yrs. For awhile Tressel has been bringing blue-chip 3 and 4 star kids(and getting production out of them).  Now he is landing 5 star kids , if he is getting consistant production from the mediocre recruits , the skies are the limit with these big-time 5 and 4 star kids.  And with our out of Conference schedule the way it is for the next 5 yrs or so.............the timing of the talent coming to Columbus could not have been better.

The 2008 class was ranked 4th.  The rankings don't generally mean all that much.  They had Alabama ranked 1, but Alabama had like 32 kids.  Sometimes quantity gets ranked over quality in these rankings.

09 looks like a top 5 class but most importantly, JT generally recruits what we need.

I think he set for the 09 class.......maybe another lineman or two.  But he will have to get another young stud in the 2010 class at running back.  Nate, have you read or heard of any so far??
