LOL!!!  With all the rain down here in SW Ohio, there isn't a sump pump to be found!!!!

Been busy with my aging M-inlaw...just got her out of the hosp today.   My new job is taking care of her(took family leave at work).  If she makes it to June she will be 90.  So I will be in and out on the board and post when I can.  So hold down the fort everyone!

Nothing really new.  Just working and spending time with family.  Now that spring is here I have yard work to tend to.  I'm trying to get my grass in better shape.

Just watched the movie Superbad for the first time in the past 2 weeks.  Funny as hell.

BTW, sgtschulze may not respond because he's super busy but he just sold his house and is buying a new one.

I sold my home on the East coast of Florida right before the market took a crap, and then bought the one I am in now not too long after. That was a stressful time...........

Anyway , I have been busy at work, taking care of general things around the house( yard, irrigation system, etc) . And getting some other small projects out of the way before September Wink

Also keeping up with my 2 1/2 yr old daughter. She is a handful already................( I am soo screwed when she gets older).

There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

WHEW! (for the most part) The sump was just a stuck float, that's the 1st thing you check. Get a hook (open coat hanger will work, fireplace poker with hook end, something like that) gently find the float arm see if it's free, gently pull it up.....see if the sump kicks on.

It did and emptied the sump well, you can hear water slowly trickle back into the well. Check to see if the float has a clear and easy travel (similar to a toilet tank).

The only bad thing, the pipe in the well has a small leak when the pump runs, will need replaced. Why does stuff break on weekends and holidays 90% of the time for me? huh

Hey, I spent many years in electrical and mechanical maintenance during my steel mill years, fixed almost anything......including sumps and toilets laugh

Murphy's law... laughing on floor  And now that you have it working, you DO have a extra pump all hooked up and ready to go in case the old one dies???   Ours usually waits for a weekend/holiday at 2:46 AM to die.  We learned the hard way....we now have a extra pump all piped and a quik connect top to change in a moments notice or when the basement floor is wet.

I think the one that is in now was my spare (sat in a box for ~10 years), I better order a good 1/2HP pump ready to go.

Good idea! good
