2 of Nascar's top drivers rail Goodyear and the product they put out for Atlanta

Tony Stewart and Dale Jr. were ripping into Goodyear and the tires they put out for the race today. Tony has said several statements about Goodyears tires.
Tony's key points............
- Why are all the other racing circuts using other brands of tires?? Because at one point and time Goodyear was at Indy league, short track sprints, outlaws ........etc. And now those leagues don't race with Goodyear.
- Tony suggests that Nascar opens up the competition with tires manufacturers............( Hoosier, firestone, michilen)
- Every time a tire issue comes up with Goodyear , thier fallback is to bring a harder tire to the track. Which makes it a very uncomfortable race to drive .
The issue here is handling. Todays Atlanta race was crazy, drivers could not run side by side without almost wreacking. So drivers were letting up , to avoid wreacking. The fact that not just Tony was complaining about the Goodyears tells people something needs to be done . I am sure alot more drivers would say more, but they are not as outspoken as Tony.
Dale Jr. made it a point that Goodyear need not bring this type of tire to Darlington, or there will be similar and more complaints.
Lastly, I like the fact Tony suggested that maybe there should be more than one tire supplying tires for Nascar. I mean it's all about competition right? Drivers are competing against other drivers, manufacturers are competing against other manufacturers.........Why can't tire companies compete? ( Hoosier, Firestone, Michilen ) That would really draw some competition.
But why would Nascar agree with somethig that isn't thier idea, or way of thinking? Even if it would put to bed the tire issues.

What doesn't make sense here is Goodyear and Nascar had tested a tire in the preseason that all the drivers liked for this track. Then for some unknown reason, Nascar tells Goodyear not to bring that tire and subsituted for the tires they used this weekend. Why waste the teams time and energy testing on a tire that they are not going to use? I'd be mad too. This will be a interesting mess to see what NASCAR does do to solve the problem and calm the drivers down.
Tony has a very valued point there and NASCAR needs to take a look at them. This race was crazy. Listening to Jr scanner, he was very frustrated over the handling of the car, never having a happy medium. Others were voicing the same problems and concerns. The plot thickens

As the days go by, you hear more drivers agreeing with Tony on the fact that Goodyear needs to bring a better tire, and then guys like Newman and Gordon say Tony is going alittle to the extreme with his comments.
Look guys, you either agree there is an issue , or you don't. Can't have it both ways.
And alot of drivers are afraid of voicing thier opinons, due to the fact thier ride isn't long term . So they don't want to rustle feathers. Kudos to Jr. , and Elliot Sadler, and a couple others for backing Smoke on this . As for the others........like Carl Edwards...........just go collect your millions and be gone already

Did I say that it would be a nice change for a warm spring race.................WRONG!!! If anything could go wrong it did. Cold, Wet, cold....did I say wet? Scanner batteries died, found a new leak in the skylight of the motorhome, generator was finicky, TV satalite had a ice jam, cold, wet muddy weather........Ryan got caught in a wreck, Tony and Harvick clashed, had to share a scanner with hubby(had to listen to Jr and Jr show)..Rain, cold.......... Gosh I love racing!!!!
