Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball vs. Florida Gators

Ohio State vs. Florida Gators

Date: December 22nd
Location: Columbus
Time: 4 pm

We need this win.  Florida is 11-1 and this would be a good quality win to help our standing.  Plus, we're due for some payback.

GO BUCKS!

Revenge is the name of the game. Saturday December 22, 2007 The Ohio State Buckeyes take on the defending national champion Florida Gators in what seems to be a great match up. The Defending Big Ten champions vs. the defending SEC champions. 11 top scorers gone, OSU freshman sensations gone, experienced Florida Gators gone. What will it be like this year with totally new teams? Only one player that got significant time last year in the tournament for these two teams is back. Jamar Butler will need to show his persistance and experience and catipult these young Buckeyes to a great win over a talented Gator team. This is more than a basketball game. It's revenge to the whole state of Ohio.

Buckeyes looking good in the first half with great intensity.  Up by 10 at the half.  Diebler shooting well and Lighty playing like a man possessed.

My first half thoughts....

1. The Bucks showed outstanding defensive intensity the entire half, holding FLA to only 22 points. The scrambling, 3/4 court zone pressure threw FLA off balance several times. It led to a few TOs, a bad shot selection and missed shots.
2. A few of the younger guys had flashes of brilliance.
3. Florida is 11-1 and pretty weak, really. You'd think a team, despite being young, would be used to the pressure because of the conference they're in and who their teammates were the last few years. UGLY.
4. FLA isn't very quick, which showed against the press. Hopefully, the Bucks can continue to clamp down on them in the second half, although I know Donovan will have some adjustments at the half.
5. The Bucks just have to weather the storm -- FLA will go on some runs, but the goal is just to keep playing tough.

Go Bucks!

Very good win, too bad Florida lost all of that great talent from last yr.  St. John's was rocking .........I haven't seen that place like that since "Skull Session".

There are Buckeyes, and then there is Chris Spielman.  This is a man that needs no introduction; he embodies not only what it should mean to be a Buckeye, but what it should mean to be a football player and a man.  Simply put, there cannot possibly be anyone out there who does not respect Chris Spielman.  The man was born to play football as he rose from the storied Massillon Tigers to OSU to the NFL.

It was a good win from a confidence stand point.  Florida isn't very good though.  It could be a good win on paper at the end of the season.

We looked pretty good tonight.  I only saw the second half.  Even Turner played a lot more.  Seems like they like his energy and athleticism.

Good win.  It's another W!

Sorry I missed all but the last 9:21 of the game.

Regardless of how late I tuned in or how weak FLA might be, it was great to beat FLA.  I wanted to hear the crowd start chanting "Let's Play Football" at the end.   laughing on floor

I agree, it was great to beat Florida.  We actually dominated them for the most part.
