Maybe I've been sleeping or maybe the new HD TV just makes it easier to see things, I dunno, but Ballard has been a force on the O-Line.  He played a huge part in Beanie's big day.  He does a heck of a job sealing off the end.  He doesn't even look that big standing next to our O-Line.

Was he a highly regarded guy coming out of HS?

I think we have some fine TEs.

Jake Ballard was a 4 star recruit in the 2006 class out of Sprinboro Ohio.   I think he was one of the top 3 TEs in the Midwest.  Ballard is really stepping it up.  He's blocking great, he's running routs and he's got good hands.  He could come up huge in a close game.

Looking at that 06 class, that was a monster class.  Take a look at that class.  See below.

Jake Ballard TE  6-6 250 4.8 5.8  Springboro, OH

Kurt Coleman DB  5-11 180 4.41 5.8  Clayton, OH
Walter Dublin DE  6-3 235 4.58 5.5   Sarasota, FL
Aaron Gant RB  6-0 200 4.5 5.5  Orchard Lake, MI
Thaddeus Gibson LB  6-2 205 4.5 5.9  Euclid, OH
Larry Grant LB  6-2 220 4.4 -  San Francisco, CA
Antonio Henton QB  6-2 210 4.6 5.7  Fort Valley, GA
Ross Homan LB  6-1 229 4.55 5.8  Coldwater, OH

Robert Rose DE  6-4 255 4.71 6.1  Cleveland, OH
Grant Schwartz DB  6-0 201 4.5 5.6  Dana Point, CA

Wow, great picture.
Thanks for sharing.

Another great catch I remember from earlier in the year was by another young'n.   biggrin

The TD catch that Saine had against Washington when he reached back and down to catch a ball thrown low and behind him, was the type of catch that you rarely see made.
