You have to choose one or the other from the choices the previous person posted. (You do not have to give a reason for your choice.) Then you can pose a question that could be related to the choices you were just given or you can go off in a different direction. It is entirely up to you at that point...

(For example, if the previous person posted "Fords or Chevys?" you could pick "Fords" and then stay on subject by saying "black cars or red cars?" or something completely different like "Monty Python or Saturday Night Live?" The choice is yours.)
